About Us
Advanced Machine Design Company was founded in 1972 and originally began manufacturing our own patented hydraulic bar and billet shears. AMD quickly became known for robust machinery and exceptional customer service. As a result, key customers started requesting that AMD provide them hydraulic presses built on the same principles as the shears. Since then, we have supplied hydraulic presses, shears, and material handling to a variety of industries. It is likely that if you have driven a vehicle, boarded an airplane, or taken another form public transportation, we played a part in your travel. AMD has provided presses and shears for these industries and others that touch our everyday lives at home, at work, or in leisure.
Advanced Machine Design is located in Buffalo, New York in a 100,000 + square foot manufacturing facility. Machining capabilities include multiple boring mills, lathes, bed and roll grinders, milling machines, and saws.
Machine assembly and testing areas are supported by in-house welding, hydraulics, and electrical shops.
Multiple overhead cranes, with lifting capacities to 100 ton and 45 foot hook clearance, further support our machining and assembly operations. All machines are designed, engineered, and manufactured in our facility.
